The Electoral Commission (EC) will launch its nationwide voter exhibition exercise today, August 20, running through August 27.
Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairman of the EC for Corporate Services, explained that the exercise is designed to help voters find their polling stations. Voters can also use this period to address issues such as adding omitted names, challenging incorrect entries, and removing names of deceased individuals.
Dr. Asare encouraged all registered voters to participate to help create a reliable voter register for the 2024 elections. The exercise also allows citizens to object to names of minors, foreigners, or non-residents in their electoral areas.
Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare stated that police officers will be present at the exhibition centers to maintain order. He urged the public to participate and report any security concerns to the officers on site.
