Controversial musician and activist Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, has reiterated the negative impact of the recent power outages on marriages.
According to him, marriage cannot survive darkness as “dumsor” sweeps away the pleasurable moments among couples.
In a Facebook post, the politician emphasized a point that was advanced by a Kenyan MP on the floor of the Kenyan Parliament two months ago on how power outages were affecting marriages.
A-Plus stated that “dumsor” was affecting the process of intimacy, leaving it with heat that could go a long way toward setting marriage couples apart.
“Please, loud, am well well. How can marriages survive in Dumsor when people are not seeing what they are eating?” he stated.
A-Plus’ words reinforced Babu Owino, a Kenyan lawmaker who made a case in Parliament, lamenting the high cost of electricity in Kenya coupled with the erratic power cuts experienced in the country, which he said were affecting marriages.
“Marriage cannot be very sweet and successful when the cost of electricity is high. Why? Because even in the process of lovemaking, you need to see what you are eating, so when the cost of electricity is high, you will be so depressed and you cannot even deliver well, so it is breaking even marriages,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has declared plans to hit the streets to embark on a vigil in order to compel the government to take immediate steps in combating the power outages bedeviling the country.
