#MaxEntertainment: The only way to join Hollywood is to be a gay – Prince David Osei

Date:

Actor Prince David Osei says he shunned his ambitious journey to be a Hollywood star when he realized that he had to join the LGBTQIA+ community to make his dream come true.

According to him, he was not willing to pay the price to be on top of his acting career, so he decided to return to Ghana.

In a recent media interview, the actor indicated that he traveled to the United States in 2017 to be with his wife and kids and also to chase his dream there.

However, he had to give up on his dream since he had to be gay before becoming a mainstream actor in Los Angeles.

Prince David recounted a Hollywood production that came to Ghana in 2010: scouting for actors earned him a role as Sgt. Daniel Dembele in a horror movie, The Dead.

He explained that the shooting of the movie sent him to Los Angeles, in the United States, for the first time, and the opportunity motivated him to think he could do more.

However, the budding actor got discouraged in his bid since the people he met wanted to introduce him to LGBTQ society, which was against his principles.

He narrated that he met some producers at a “drink up” in LA in 2017, and while there, “this nice young man, a Mexican Latino—a very cute guy—came around.”

After they were introduced, Prince David indicated that the unnamed Mexican told him that he liked his physique.

“At a point, he put his hand on my shoulder, but I didn’t read much into it. But later, when the place got crowded, I felt someone press my bottom. Reflexively, I spun around and punched him. When that happened, they all asked, ‘What’s going on?’ and I said, ‘He just touched my bum.’ They started laughing,” Prince David narrated, noting that their reaction upset him greatly.

“I told them No, you don’t touch me inappropriately,” he stressed.

Prince David Osei said the guy who touched him then pulled him aside to tell him that if he really wanted to excel there, he needed people like them.

“You need people like us. We run the show here. I got that into my head, and later on in my hotel, I told myself that I can’t pay this price. No, it’s not worth it,” he added.

Since then, Prince David has said he gave up on Hollywood to concentrate on Gollywood.
