Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, popularly known as Oxlade, hit song “Kulosa,” becomes the latest Afrobeats song to be declared platinum in France.
Social media has aided lots of musicians in terms of promoting their music to the general public. Among these social media platforms is Tik Tok.
Some Afrobeats songs have become worldwide hits thanks to TikTok. A notable song is Oxlade’s “Kulosa” performance from Colors Studios, which gained popularity after fans extensively replicated the music video.
According to recent developments, Oxlade’s “Kulosa” has received over 50,000,000 streams in France and has been certified as a diamond by the French music certification agency SNEP.
June 2022 saw the release of the song, which Epic Records distributed. France propelled Oxlade to global prominence, particularly in France, where it peaked at No. 18 on the SNEP chart and ended the year at No. 141.
When Oxlade performed the song at Wizkid’s Accor Arena, the audience roared, he recalled, at a live broadcast of the Zero Conditions Podcast in December 2023.
