Highlife singer Fameye has expressed regret for underrating the Ghana Music Awards (GMA) and placing many other awards above it.
According to him, while growing up, he valued other award schemes over GMA.
He made this statement in the wake of the recently held Grammys, which have sparked a lot of controversy.
In a post, the musician admitted it was a mistake he made not to have believed in GMA and not placing it above other awards.
“I made a mistake for not putting Ghana music Awards ahead of any other Award scheme in the world growing up as an artiste. I can explain if I am being interviewed properly,” he said.
Fameye further stated that things would never be the same now that he had realized GMA was better to be cherished and was above other awards.
Meanwhile, he is preparing to drop his first single of the year, “Only You,” on February 11, 2024.
