Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, admitted to being a full man before receiving his sentence on Friday morning.
He was sentenced to six months in prison without the option of a fine for defacing and abusing the Nigerian currency, the naira.
“I am a man,” Bobrisky replied after he was questioned by the presiding judge, Justice Abimbola Awogboro, just before being sentenced.
The “Mama of Lagos,” as he [Bobrisky] often refers to himself on social media, will serve his prison term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.
The four-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria included incidents where he was accused of tampering with N400,000 at Imax Circle Mall in Jakande, Lekki; N50,000 at Aja Junction in Ikorodu; N20,000 at White Steve Event Hall in Ikeja; and another N20,000 at an event hall in Oniru, Victoria Island, all between 2022 and 2023.
