#MaxEntertainment: Davido pledges ₦300 million to orphanages

Date:

Nigerian Afrobeat musician Davido has pledged a 300 million naira donation to orphanage homes around Nigeria.

The donation, he said, would be done through his David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), which aims at giving relief to the less privileged and the needy.

He made the announcement on his X post, formerly on Twitter.

“I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria… as my yearly contribution to the Nation .. details of disbursement tomorrow,” he said.

The musician, last year, on July 20, 2023, also gave out a whopping sum of N237 million for onwards donations through the chairman of the disbursement committee, Mrs. Titi Adebayo.

Since the inception of the foundation in 2022, the foundation has rendered various forms of assistance to different orphanage homes across Nigeria.

In his words, Davido said the foundation began reaching out to eminent and compassionate Nigerians, seeking their support in raising funds for the less privileged across the country, to which the people contributed immensely.

He indicated that the donation was being done at a time when Nigerians were reeling against the backdrop of a harsh economy and was optimistic that the donation would be a relief to the beneficiaries.
