Everton are looking into a deal for Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana as they grow fed up with their efforts to capture Leeds’ Wilfried Gnonto.
The Ghanaian forward, who had just recently transferred from Rennes to St. Mary’s, was unable to prevent the Saints’ decline into the Championship.
But in the 18 games since his £22 million move, Sulemana has only scored two goals—both on the penultimate day of the Premier League season—and an assist.
Everton had expressed interest in the midfielder in January, but Southampton appeared to be resisting their efforts. However, Sean Dyche and company may now be on the verge of acquiring their target, albeit via a detour.
