This past weekend’s football action in the English Premier League and Italian Serie A saw Ghanaian players excelling in their fixtures.

Starting from the best league in the world, the English Premier League, Jordan Ayew was in excellent form as he bagged a brace for Crystal Palace as they demolished Leeds United 1-5 away at Elland Road. Fellow countryman Jeffrey Schlupp nearly got on the score sheet for Palace in his 79 minutes of action.

Daniel Amartey featured for his Leicester City side but could not help prevent his side from losing to fellow league strugglers Bournemouth.

Black Stars captain Andre Ayew made an injury return in his side, Nottingham Forest’s 2-0 loss away to Aston Villa.

Kamaldeen Sulemana showed his potential in the 68 minutes he featured for Southampton in their 1-4 home loss to Manchester City.

Thomas Partey was impressive in the entire 90 minutes of Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

In Serie A, Felix Afena-Gyan played ten minutes in his side Cremonese’s 3-2 win over Sampdoria.

Retired Black Stars player Alfred Duncan came on as a substitute to feature in Fiorentina’s 1-1 home draw with Emmanuel Gyasi’s Spezia.
