Renowned Movie Director, Frank Fiifi Garbin says Kumawood is being criticized harshly because it is the engine and pivot of the Ghana movie industry.
According to him, most Ghallywood actors criticize and condemn Kumawood just to look relevant in saving their dying career.
Fiifi Garbin said this during a phone interview with Max TV on e-Quick, a flagship entertainment show last Friday.
He noted that actress Martha Ankomah and colleague Prince David Osei as well as movie producer Fiifi Coleman had been spewing unpalatable words against the kumawood movies, knowing clearly that it was the pivot and engine in the Ghana movie space.
“You will hear this person saying the Kumawood story doesn’t make sense, another will say this and the other will say that. It looks like Kumawood is the center of attention. It is the pivot and engine of the Ghana movie industry and that is something they don’t want to accept,” Garbin noted.
He expressed shock with how his colleagues were saying lots of things to discredit the Kumawood industry just to uplift the Ghallywood.
Moving forward, Garbin called on collective effort in building the industry without making one a center of attention.
