Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, arrived in Kumasi on Thursday morning to visit Asante Kotoko and the family of the late fan, Nana Frimpong, also known as ‘Pooley.’
Addressing speculation about his recent travels, Okraku dismissed claims that he was lobbying for a seat on the CAF Executive Committee. He clarified that his absence was due to official FA duties and personal medical reasons, not political maneuvering.
“I was out of the country not to campaign for a CAF Executive Committee slot but to work for the FA and attend to my medical needs,” he stated.
His remarks come amid discussions on Ghana’s representation in CAF leadership. Okraku, a key figure in Ghanaian football development, reassured stakeholders that his focus remains on advancing the sport locally rather than personal ambitions.
As Ghanaian football faces ongoing challenges, Okraku’s statement aims to dispel distractions and reinforce his commitment to the GFA’s growth agenda.
