The Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer-songwriter, Kuami Eugene, is out with an album of 14 tracks titled Son of Africa featuring Zlatan, DJ Mensah, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Samini, Falz, Obaapa Christy, Eddy Kenzo and Prince Bright.
Known in real life as Eugene Kwame Marfo, Kuami Eugene has revealed that it wasn’t difficult getting other artistes to feature on his album.
In an exclusive interview on a Cape Coast-based FM station, Kuami Eugene disclosed that his personality and solid brand make it less difficult to collaborate with other artists from different African countries.
Signed to Lynx Entertainment, he said most artistes from other countries especially in Africa feel privileged to be affiliated with his rockstar brand.
“Collaborating with artistes from other countries depends on the kind of personality you have as well. Sometimes being a big artiste like rockstar people would like my affiliation, he said.
“My brand is solid so most artistes would like to be involved with what I’m doing. So it makes it less difficult in getting other artistes from neighbouring African countries to work with. I think that is what you need in order to get features and collabo with other artistes” he added.
When asked how long he took in recording his Son of Africa album, he said “In all it took me about five to six months to put my Son of Africa album together.”
