JZyNo ashamed of smoking and drug-dealing musicians

Date:

Afropop artist JZyNO, who is known privately as Jonathan Lee Pratt, says he feels ashamed of people who drink alcohol, abuse drugs, and smoke.

He said some of the people who are into such nefarious acts behave awkwardly.

The “Butta My Bread” hitmaker made this known during an exclusive interview with Max Morning Show when he was embarking on his musical tour in Accra on Wednesday to announce the release of his new single “Mood.”

Though he said he did not have a problem with those who engaged in drug abuse, or smoke or drink but it did not look healthy to him.

Those things, the Ghana-based Liberian singer observed, weakened the body and imposed dire health risks on those who were into them, thus cautioning Ghanaians to desist from the act.

It could be noted that various artistes like Camidoh and Sarkodie endorsed smoking in their music clips, with Shatta Wale and Kelvyn Boy admitting to being addicted to smoking. JZyNO said such people behaved abnormally, and he felt ashamed of them.

His resentment towards the act stemmed from an experience he had with his father, who was a drunkard.

“As a small boy when I close from school and I go to my dad’s work place for us to come home together, he will buy an alcoholic beverage and drink. On our way home, he would feel tipsy and begin to walk awkwardly, making my friends to tease me. This made me feel so ashamed.”

“Even if you’re an elderly person and you send me to buy cigarettes or alcohol for you, what I will tell you will make you think that I was not raised well. So I have grown to be ashamed of such acts,” JZyNO added.
