Former Black Stars player, Yusif Chibsah has urged the new technical team of Ghana to invite highly committed players for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Player selections to the Black Stars of Ghana in recent times have been a controversial topic, especially with a number of them deemed to be underperformers constantly being called-up.
Discussing the team with Nana Darkwa Gyasi on the Sports Pack on Max FM, he iterated the need to be building a team from the youth levels to graduate to the senior side.
“You don’t build a team at the senior level because there is no time. When you are called, you deliver and go.
So the technical team must make sure to get the team right by inviting players who are match-ready with a high commitment level and are ready to die for the country.
But if they call based on template, then it will be bad,” he said.
Noting the team possesses some great players, Chibsah advised the best-performing ones should be invited for the games against CHAD and Madagascar in March 2025.
