Ghana had the advantage in possession during a match that took place at the Accra Sports Stadium, and after a scoreless first half, they scored three goals.
In the 51st minute, defender Nicholas Opoku sent in an accurate long ball to Ernest Nuamah to score the first goal for the Black Stars.
The Olympique Lyon attacker assisted Mohammed Kudus to score Ghana’s second goal of the game seven minutes later.
Jordan Ayew, a replacement, scored from close range later in the contest to give Ghana a three-goal lead after being set up by Jonathan Sowah.
The Ghana defense was unable to maintain its resolve during extra time, allowing Liberia to score to end the game 3-1.
