Eric Mantey, a 60-year-old physically challenged man, has been arrested for assault on his teenage son.

He was handed over to the police by members of his community in North Legon after hauling his son through the tarred streets on his quad motorbike.

This gruesome act by the thoughtless father occurred in the evening of Sunday, May 3, 2026.

According to the teary Mr Mantey, he didn’t know what came over him to have committed such a cruel act on his biological son.

His youngest child, according to a report filed by TV3 News, informed him that her older brother went out with his friends to play football and then later entered a neighbor’s pool without permission.

With the help of some folks, Mr Mantey managed to get hold of his son and tied him to his quad bike.

The boy sustained multiple injuries to his back, hands, and pelvic areas of his body.

Mr Mantey, who admitted to his act to the Ghana Police Service, has been charged and will be put before the court.
