Holding Steadfast and Still Believing as Fatawu Issahaku dominates in first PL game

Date:

Reflecting on Issahaku Fatawu’s meteoric rise from humble beginnings to a man-of-the-match performance in his first-ever Premier League appearance at the King Power Stadium is one that must inspire every Ghanaian youngster looking to break barriers in the world of football.

The Ghanaian international, following a loan spell with Leicester in the 2023-24 season under the guidance of now Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, made his move permanent after a stellar year-long performance, helping the former Premier League champions make a return to the big leagues.

Still believing in his ability and holding steadfast, Fatawu was a constant thorn in the flesh for Tottenham Hotspurs in their league opener on Monday night.

He played the full throttle, had 54 touches, completed 14 passes, won 12 ground duels, and made one match-changing assist.

Pedro Porro’s goal for Spurs in the first half was cancelled eight minutes after recess when veteran English striker, Jamie Vardy, headed home from a clever chip-cross from Fatawu, earning a point for Leicester.

Once described by The Guardian as “arguably the best African prospect of his generation,” the way for the Black Stars winger is UP!
