HIV/AIDS Infections On The Rise In Kpandai

Date:

Kpandai — The Queen Mother of Katiejeli, Nana Abunabaso I, has raised concerns over the alarming rise in HIV/AIDS infections in her town.

Health authorities revealed a combined 93 new cases between January 2025 and February 2026 in the Kpandai district.

All patients have been enrolled on antiretroviral therapy (ART), with 71 from the Kpandai District Hospital, while 32 are from the Evangelical Church of Ghana Hospital.

“Our youth are destroying themselves with drugs and unprotected sex. This affects their dignity, their health, and their future,” said Nana Abunabaso I to Graphic Online.

Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive, Haruna Abdul-Karim, announced the formation of a district HIV/AIDS committee to strengthen awareness campaigns and pledged financial support from the assembly.
