In match week 12 of the 2023–24 Ghana Premier League, Hearts of Oak had to battle back from a goal down to draw 1–1 with Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
After 25 minutes, Emmanuel Essien’s goal from an angle that Richmond Ayi should have been saving put the Phobians behind at home.
Hearts of Oak had a task ahead of them in the second half if they were to salvage any points from the match as the Northern Blues led at the half.
Gideon Asante Yeboah scored the equalizer for Abdul Rahim Bashiru’s Hearts of Oak in the 70th minute, ten minutes after replacing Raphael Amponsah to snatch a point for the home side.
Hearts of Oak are now sixth in the league standings with 16 points, while Berekum Chelsea are fourth with 20 points as a result of the draw.
