Media practitioner Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, has advised musicians who have intentions of selling their music catalogue to find a professional to negotiate for them.
According to him, a better negotiation will help the artist not to lose his or her entire right over the music as well as make necessary money to boost his or her craft.
Sammy Flex said this during an interview with the Max Morning Show in Accra on Wednesday when he was speaking on the sidelines of catalogue selling.
”My advice is to find a person who has in-depth knowledge about it to negotiate properly so that you wouldn’t end up regretting it,” he said.
Sammy Flex noted that the selling of the music catalogue could make or unmake an artiste and expressed the need for a knowledgeable person to lead the bid.
He said an artist could make huge money from leasing or selling off the catalogue and that resources could help in venturing into other lucrative businesses while reinventing him- or herself in the industry.
