1. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has referred the Director of Internal Audit at the Ministry of Finance, Jacob Ahadzi, to the Attorney-General for possible prosecution over breaches of the Public Procurement Act.

2. The acting Minister for Defence, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced that a board formed to investigate the August 9, Z-9 military helicopter crash has begun its work.

3. A parliamentary aspirant on the ticket of the Action People’s Party (APP), who has been disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC) for failing to submit a tax clearance certificate before the filing of nominations closed, has sued the EC.

4. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), with more than 600,000 up for placement in senior high, technical and vocational schools.

5. Mrs Alberta Addo has been installed as the new Paramount Queen Mother of James Town Ngleshie Alata in the Greater Accra Region. Her stool name is Naa Affipong IV.

6. Liverpool manager Arne Slot, has hit out at Newcastle United’s approach to their Premier League clash on Monday night.

The reigning champions threw away a two-goal lead at St James Park but ended up winning 3-2.

7. President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, at the Police Headquarters in Accra on Monday.

Entertainment and lifestyle

8. The city of Toronto, Canada, witnessed a historic cultural milestone when the “Sankofa Square” was inaugurated.

9. Edem Tsotorme, a Ghanaian entertainment pundit and artiste manager, threw his weight behind highlife musician Akwaboah following a stir caused by the artiste’s outfit.

Business

10. A partnership between Ghanaian company PKA Export and Import and a Chinese manufacturer will see the establishment of an assembly plant in Ghana.

The agreement will have the Chinese firm, Polyrock, set up an assembly plant for electric vehicles in Ghana after signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
