The Boys U-15 School team from Ghana defeated Nigeria to secure the third place in the WAFU B Zonal qualifiers for the CAF Schools championships in Lome, Togo.
Following a thrilling 1-1 semifinal on Sunday morning, Ghana overcame a devastating shootout setback to Benin to defeat Nigeria 5-3 on penalties.
Nigeria were defeated 2-0 by Team Ghana earlier on Saturday in the group stage.
President Simeon-Okraku encouraged them to take lessons from the circumstance and keep fighting despite hardship.
The boys battled for victory over rivals Nigeria in the third-place match, coming back stronger.
