HEARTS NEWS: Board refutes Koopman’s claims

Date:

Hearts of Oak board has labeled former Dutch coach Martin Koopman‘s recent statement as “very distasteful,” vehemently denying the allegations that they interfered with his team selection.

The Ghana Premier League side addressed the controversy in a press conference held today, December 4, 2023, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding Martin Koopman’s departure following a string of unfavorable results.

“We believe strongly that cooperation is what can give you good results,” the Board said.

“The Board finds Koopman’s statement very distasteful. The Board has never said to any coach or Koopman that he shouldn’t use the players he mentioned,”

In match week 13, the Accra-based club tasted defeat against Aduana Stars. The league leaders beat Hearts of Oak 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The Phobians are currently 9th on the league table with 16 points after 13 games.

Accra Hearts of Oak will take on arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in their next league game at the  Baba Yara Sports
