Hearts hold Kotoko to goalless draw in Super Clash

Asante Kotoko’s valiant attempt to clinch the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League took a hit at the home of their eternal rivals, Hearts of Oak.

The two most successful clubs in the history of Ghanaian football, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, engaged in the “Super Clash” at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, May 4.

Kotoko entered the game needing the maximum points to enhance their chances of winning the league at the expense of their rivals.

Interim head coach Karim Zito hoped to claim his second win since taking over from Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, who was sacked with six games to the end of the season.

Mohammed Camara pulled a fantastic save in the first minute of the second half to keep Asante Kotoko in the game following a goalless first-half.

Albert Amoah came close to snatching a late winner for the for the visitors, but he rushes his shot a wide off the post after fending off his marker.

Kotoko remain third on the league standings despite the draw, and are three points adrift new leaders and city rivals, Nations FC.
