Antoine Semenyo Struggle Against Real Madrid Despite Making History

Date:

Madrid — Antoine Semenyo made history on Wednesday night against Real Madrid in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League.

The Ghanaian enjoyed the envious privilege of becoming yet another Ghanaian to feature in Europe’s elite club competition.

Semenyo became the second player ever to play in the non-league, all four professional English divisions, and the Champions League.

The Black Stars attacker struggled in his debut against the record holders of the Champions League, Real Madrid, with Manchester United.

Manchester City were blitzed away by a masterful and memorable captain’s display from Federico Valverde at the Santiago Bernabeu in the round of 16 1st leg.

The Uruguayan scored a superb hat trick as Real Madrid headed into the 2nd leg with a 3-0 advantage.
