Kotoko entered the game needing the maximum points to enhance their chances of winning the league at the expense of their rivals.

Interim head coach Karim Zito hoped to claim his second win since taking over from Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, who was sacked with six games to the end of the season.

Mohammed Camara pulled a fantastic save in the first minute of the second half to keep Asante Kotoko in the game following a goalless first-half.
