There’s a new leader on the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) standings once again as the season takes yet another dramatic turn on matchweek 30.
Nations FC, the new leader of the eventful league, defeated Accra Lions by a goal to nil at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese on Sunday, May 4.
Following a drab goalless first-half, Sadiq Alhassan scored the winner for Kasim Mingle’s Nations FC at home in the early minutes of the second-half.
The result means the Abrankese boys are now the league leaders after a shock home defeat for Bibiani Gold Stars to relegation-threatened side, Karela United.
Mohammed Sulemana struck just before halftime to hand Karela United a fighting chance of staying in Ghana’s top flight division.
