GPL WRAP MATCH DAY 6: Hearts’ Issah Seals Late Win; Gold Stars Draw with Nation, Medeama Falls

Date:

Hearts of Oak secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Young Apostles, thanks to a late goal from Hamza Issah on October 13. After a goalless first half, Hearts took the lead through Emmanuel Amankwah, only for Young Apostles to equalize with a stunning overhead kick from Samuel Prempeh.

However, Hearts responded immediately, with Issah’s goal ensuring they remain unbeaten in their last four matches, now sitting eighth in the league.

In another match, Bibiani Gold Stars salvaged a 1-1 draw against Nations FC. Despite being dominated in the first half, Gold Stars equalized late with Kelvin Oppong’s strike, earning a point and halting their recent struggles.

Medeama SC’s unbeaten run came to an end as they fell 2-0 to Bechem United. Early goals from Dalvin Yeboah and Emmanuel Abban left Medeama unable to recover, marking their third consecutive match without a win.

Finally, Basake Holy Stars broke a three-game losing streak, edging Karela United 1-0 thanks to Prince Opoku’s late goal. This victory lifted Holy Stars to 12th in the table, while Karela United slipped to 14th.
