Gladson Awako scored on his debut as Hearts of Oak beat Elmina Sharks 1-0.

The Phobians who prior to the game were winless were determined to get their first win.
After a goalless first half, Hearts Coach Samuel Boadu introduced Awako into the game and it took the former Great Olympics striker few minutes to make a name for himself.
He collected a beautiful pass and sent a shot which deflected off a Sharks player and went into the net.
Hearts were cruising and things got better for them when Sharks were reduced to ten men.
That joy was short lived as Salifu Ibrahim of Hearts was also shown a second yellow card and was sent off.
Hearts managed to hold on and the game ended 1-0 in their favor.
