Date:

The head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Aboubakar Ouattara, and his charges silenced the whole of Tarkwa with a superlative 0-2 win against Medeama SC on Friday night.

Prior to the start of the match, the head coach of the home side, Nebojsa Kapor, confidently said his side, Medeama, were ready to hand Heart of Oak a beatdown when they meet at the TnA Stadium.

Mawuli Wayo stunned the spectators with the second goal three minutes before the end of regular time, which sealed the win for the Phobians after Kwabena Boateng had given the away side the lead in the 63rd minute of the match.

In the second match of the night, defending champions FC Samartex held Accra Lions to a 1-1 draw at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Abdul Shakun got Lions’ goal just before halftime before Benedict Afful equalized for Samartex in the 90+2 minutes of the game.
