GPCL Sends Stern Warning to Fake Gazette Offenders

Date:

The Managing Director of the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL), Nana Kwasi Boatey Esq., has issued a strong warning to individuals engaged in the production and circulation of fake gazettes, insisting that perpetrators will be prosecuted and jailed.

Speaking at the launch of the Gazette 360 campaign in Accra, Nana Boatey described the proliferation of fake gazettes as a national threat that undermines the integrity of Ghana’s official legal publication. He said the company would pursue offenders relentlessly.

“We will chase you, we will arrest you, we will prosecute you, and we’ll make sure you stay behind bars,” he declared. “Anyone caught attempting to falsify the Ghana Gazette will be treated as an enemy of the state.”

According to him, fake gazettes have caused significant damage to the reputations of Ghanaians, particularly those seeking opportunities abroad, citing fraudulent entries in marriages and name changes as examples of the harm caused. He therefore called on the media, security services and the wider public to join the fight to protect the authenticity of official records.
