The senior national team of Ghana will kick off their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium later today as they prepare to face Sudan in the Matchday three and four fixtures of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
A total of 25 players have been invited for the matches, with four already in camp: Jojo Wollacott, Elisha Owusu, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Antoine Semenyo, who joined on Sunday.
Additionally, Ghana Premier League players Frederick Asare from Asante Kotoko and Isaac Afful from FC Samartex are expected to arrive at camp this morning. The rest of the squad will join later today for their inaugural training session at the stadium.
Fans are welcome to attend the first training session, but training on Wednesday and Thursday will be closed to the public.
Head coach Otto Addo and his team are eager to secure their first win in the qualifiers after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Angola in their opener and a 1-1 draw against Niger. Currently, the Black Stars sit third in Group F with just one point.
The first leg of the doubleheader will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, followed by the return leg on October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
