The Black Stars of Ghana will begin their first training session today in Accra as they prepare for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The team is gearing up for a vital September international break, facing Angola and Niger in their quest to secure a spot in the tournament.
Head coach Otto Addo unveiled his squad last Thursday, featuring key players like Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, and Thomas Partey. This announcement has generated excitement among fans and players, marking the start of a critical phase in the team’s journey.
By Sunday night, seven invited players, including Tariq Lamptey, Joseph Wollacott, Ibrahim Osman, Jonas Adjetey, Antoine Semenyo, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Frederick Asare, had already arrived at the Black Stars’ camp. Additional squad members are expected to join on Monday morning, leading up to the first official training session later in the evening at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars will kick off their campaign with a home match against Angola on Thursday, September 5, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, before traveling to Niger for their first away game. These fixtures are crucial as Ghana aims to make a strong start in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
