GHANA PROFESSIONAL BOXING LEAGUE: Fight Night 17 review

Date:

Every fight night in the Ghana Professional Boxing League is expected to be fierce and thrilling as season two draws to a close, exactly like we saw on Saturday night and early on Sunday morning.

A night when boxers from the Ghana Para Boxing Federation created history by making their live debut on Max TV, Ghana’s largest sports television network, was witnessed by fans and viewers worldwide.

Young boxers thrilled an enthusiastic audience by showcasing their enormous potential to start the evening.

The professional bouts began with Benjamin Lamptey, often known as “Daddy Lumba,” easily defeating Rocky Otoo in round three by knockout.

Shakur Samir, the younger brother of the beastly Bastie Samir, swiftly brushed aside Jonas Malm in round one of a middleweight contest.

Things took an interesting turn when Shakur challenged Obadai Sai to a bout; however, the latter rather threw the gauntlet to Shakur’s older brother, Bastie, while the National Welterweight Champion, Musah Lawson, also challenged Shakur Samir

Quick-witted Bernard Abbey outsmarted Emmanuel Lamptey to earn an easy win in round two of another lightweight contest.

Fans favorite, Godsway Dzivor, delivered a round-two technical knockout over Sea View’s Ben Lamptey.

Accra Academy student Cann Neequaye went the full distance with Nathaniel Nukpe. Neequaye was adjudged the winner by a unanimous decision.

The Ghana Armed Forces’ Philip Quartey made light work of Palm Springs’ Kofi Atinga with a round-three technical knockout.

Nigeria’s Yussif Adeniji Adusa defeated Raymond ‘Chorkor Banku’ Commey after six tough rounds of boxing.

The Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation maintained their top spot thanks to a round-three technical knockout by Fosu Thompson over the Black Panthers’ Francis Lamptey.

In the much-anticipated bout of the night, Ghana Prison’s Jessie Lartey won by maximum points over Bridge Boxing Gym’s Samuel Odartey Lamptey.
