‎Ghana has failed terribly for not building music museum— Rocky Dawuni

Date:

‎Grammy-nominated musician and Pan-African cultural ambassador Rocky Dawuni says Ghana has failed terribly as a country for not having a museum to keep records of legendary musicians.

‎According to him, the act has not positively reflected the indigenous music and talents Ghana has witnessed throughout the years.

‎Speaking in an exclusive interview on Max Drive in Accra on Thursday, the multiple award-winning reggae legend stated that Ghana has no history in terms of music and called for immediate action for the country to build a museum for the purpose of learning and history.

‎”Here we don’t even have a museum that reflects the music of Ghana. There are lots of highlife greats who have passed. Where is their work? Where is their history? As a nation, I think we have failed in that aspect. We have failed terribly in that aspect,” he lamented.

‎Rocky Dawuni explained that due to the deficiency, the onus then lay on musicians to document their works in a way that they could share with generations to keep their works alive.
