CAF second vice president and Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku has laid out plans for Ghana’s upcoming friendly against Mexico.
The Black Stars after taking on Austria and Germany in March will turn their attention to the Latin country on Friday, May 22, 2026.
The game will serve as an opportunity for head coach Otto Addo to assess under-23 players, Ghana Premier League stars (GPL), and players that have long since been monitored.
The GFA president, Kurt Okraku, while in an exclusive interview with Max FM’s Nana Darkwa Gyasi, made this confirmation.
“Mexico, primarily, is to offer the coach or the technical team the chance to see a chunk of our U23 players, a chance to see some local players, and a chance to see players that he has been monitoring but has to work with closely.”
Mexico has been pitted against South Africa, South Korea, the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Republic of Ireland, or North Macedonia.
While the Black Stars of Ghana will take on Panama, England and Croatia.
