Legendary actor Ricky Kofi Adelayitar has expressed the need for the movie industry to gain the necessary funding that will bring all veterans together in one narrative film.
According to him, that will help veterans not to beg for alms and will also help them to be useful in their old age.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Tuesday, Adelayitar explained that the renowned veterans were still around to act to the satisfaction of the people, but there were not enough funds and rich stories to bring them together.
He observed that to revive the joy and reunite the old actors with the new ones, there was a need for a good story, sufficient resources to fund the movie, and to reach the right market for better reward at the end.
”In production, you need a story, finance and market for the material to vent out the story. We (veterans) are there, but we need funding. We need a very good story to carry out all these people not only in Ghana, but we need to show the world as well,” he stated.
Doing so, Adelayitar noted, would help ailing “veteran actors not to beg for money since they will still have something to leverage”.
