The Black Queens of Ghana stand a chance of bagging $2 million at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe has confirmed that the winners of the tournament will receive a record prize money.

Speaking in Johannesburg on Wednesday, Motsepe said the increase reflects CAF’s commitment to raising the profile of women’s football and rewarding excellence across the continent.

Since taking office in 2021, the CAF president has overseen a significant rise in WAFCON prize money, with the champions’ reward increasing by 900% over the past five years.

The 2026 WAFCON will be hosted in Morocco from July 26 to August 16, with Africa’s top women’s national teams competing for continental glory and the record-breaking cash prize.
