Sports Data Analyst and board member of the Ghana Football Awards Felix Romark has downplayed the security protocols at various football match centres.
The Ghana Football Association implemented Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols following the tragic killing of die-hard Kumasi Asante Kotoko fan Francis Yaw Frimpong at a matchday 28 encounter at Nsoatreman FC.
While addressing the GFA’s verdicts on Nations FC’s petition following their abandonment of the matchday 33 game against Basake Holy Stars, citing security concerns as their reason, Mr Romark asserted the safety and security protocols were never going to be properly enforced.
Mr Romark further shared on Max FM’s Sports Pack show that the ones trusted with the running of football in Ghana are the reason for the negative press of Ghana’s premier football division.
“We are where we are in our league because those managing our leagues have no interest, and it is a fact — the kind of energy exerted on the Black Stars and their sponsors.
Take a good look at our league. TV coverage is poor and extremely difficult to watch. Coaching is bad. There are major issues that need to be addressed,” he said.
