On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, presented keys of nine 30-seater buses to Division One League clubs on the premises of the Accra Sports Stadium.
Following the presentation, images and footage of the interior went viral, leading to a massive outrage, as many were appalled by the state of the buses.
The GFA president fulfilled one of the promises he made at the June 2023 Congress of helping to improve the state of football clubs by easing their transportation, especially for the Division One League clubs.
The Ghana Football Association, however, should not take full responsibility, according to some reports, as the government refused to assist them in clearing the original buses they had imported at the Tema Port.
