Ghana has made significant progress in the latest FIFA rankings, marking their first upward movement since July 2024, when they climbed from 64th to 60th. The Black Stars are now ranked 76th globally, moving up from their previous 77th spot in November 2024.
This positive shift comes after Ghana’s successful start to the 2025 calendar year, with wins in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers during the recent international break. The Black Stars triumphed over Chad and Madagascar, securing their first victories since June, when they beat the Central African Republic.
As a result of these victories, Ghana has surpassed Israel, who dropped two places in the global ranking.
While the global ranking shows progress, Ghana’s position in the African rankings remains unchanged, with the team sitting 14th on the continent.
Coach Otto Addo will be eager to continue improving Ghana’s ranking when they return to action later in the year.
