Dancehall musician J.Derobie has described his separation with Mr. Eazi’s Empawa Africa record company as a growth in his career.
He also cleared the air that he has no beef with the Nigerian musician who signed a distribution deal with him through his Empawa Africa record.
Speaking in an interview with Max TV’s flagship entertainment program e-Quick in Accra on Wednesday, the “Poverty” hitmaker said he parted ways with the distribution record on a good note.
“Mr Eazi and I are good. I haven’t regretted leaving Empawa because it’s part of growth. It’s part of the journey. When you channel out, you grow. You develop into becoming something you would want to,” he stated.
J.Derobie said the initiative he took in exiting Empawa has also helped him to come up with his new record label, Turf Way records which he set up to sign himself and distribute his own music.
Though he has plans to develop new talents, he first wanted to develop himself and had teamed up with Skillions Records and Tieme Music to curate.
“I am also available for partnership so anyone who wants to financially invest into this is welcome because too much meat does not spoil the soup,” J.Derobie added.
