Former France and Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu has been spotted working as a shop assistant in a town between Aix-en-Provence and Marseille.
L’Equipe reported Mathieu, now 41, works as one of the managers of the soccer division of the Intersport store.
The former French international joined the Catalonian giants from Valencia in the 2014-15 season, having been requested by the Barcelona manager Luis Enrique.
Mathieu was the main attraction in the establishment, and several customers who were doing their usual shopping did not hesitate to take selfies for the memory.
