Petr Pavel, the president of the Czech Republic, is set to embark on a two-day official visit to Ghana from April 8, 2025.
The visit is expected to deepen diplomatic ties between the two countries. It marks the first time in six decades that a Czechoslovak head of state.
President Pavel’s visit to Ghana follows another two-day visit to Mauritania as part of a strategy to strengthen bilateral relations between the Eastern European countries and certain African states.
Following discussions with President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, April 8, the Czech president will take part in the opening of a Ghana-Czech business forum on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
He is also expected to inaugurate the new diplomatic and cultural centre called the “Czech House” and commission a hospital built by a Prague-based firm.
