I Deserve A Diplomatic Passport— King Ayisoba

Date:

Legendary musician, King Ayisoba, has called on the government to honour him with a diplomatic passport to enhance his efforts and works in promoting the indigenous Ghanaian music.

According to him, he has promoted authentic indigenous music as well as a rooted Northern costume and other traditional instruments over the years to showcase Ghanaian culture; hence, he should be considered for a diplomatic passport.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Thursday, the “I Want to See My Father” hitmaker indicated that aside from his effort in promoting authentic Ghanaian sound and costume, he also campaigned for the President, John Dramani Mahama to chalk his victory, thus deserving such a passport to commend his goodwill.

‎”I deserve a diplomatic passport because I am a full NDC member. Before Mahama could be the president, he was my friend. My band members and I prayed and campaigned for him to win him the Presidential seat so I deserve a diplomatic passport,” he said.

‎King Ayisoba further stated that he was not asking for the honour simply because he had traveled to the European, Asian and North American countries under the tickets of Ghana but to also complement the efforts of his band in the good work they had been doing to project Ghana.

‎”I am not only requesting this for myself but for the members of my band who had been traveling around the world with me. I need a diplomatic passport because we are all in Ghana, and we are all projecting Ghana, King Ayisoba also deserves a diplomatic passport,” he added.

‎King Ayisoba’s request comes weeks after five creatives namely Wodemaya, traveling vlogger, Rocky Dawuni, reggae artist, Anita Erskine, broadcast journalist, Ibrahim Mahama, visual artist and Dentaa Amoateng, entrepreneur were honoured with a diplomatic passport for their contributions to promoting the country internationally.
