Christiana Atsupie Twasam, Christian Atsu’s twin sister, has urged President Akufo-Addo to get involved in efforts to save her brother, who is said to be trapped in a building’s wreckage after a terrible earthquake that struck areas of Turkey.
Contrary to initial claims that the player had been rescued from the rubble after the earthquake, Christian Atsu has not yet been located.
An anxious Christiana Atsupie Twasam begged the president in an interview to help find her missing twin brother, whose whereabouts had been unknown since Monday.
“He (Pres. Akufo-Addo) should come in the search of my twin brother because now where I am I don’t know whether he’s found or not because he can’t be found in any hospital now,” she is quoted to have said.
Since the family is very upset about the disappearance of Christian Atsu, Atsupie Twasam also urged people to use caution when speaking.
“I believe you have to have correct information about the person. If you haven’t seen it with your eyes you don’t have to confirm. I believe if they rescue someone, they give him to the next available ambulance to send to any hospital but if you haven’t had official confirmation, you don’t have to confirm. Because this is a delicate issue,” she noted.
Francisca Ashitey-Odunton, Ghana’s ambassador to Turkey, has stated that the embassy is working hard to present solid findings by Thursday night.
