According to Asante Kotoko defender Christopher Nettey, this season’s Ghana Premier League (GPL) was proving to be competitive before it was suspended due to coronavirus pandemic.
All football activities in Ghana was halted by the GFA following the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus as part of measures to curb the rapid spread of the disease.
Christopher Nettey has been one of the consistent performers for Asante Kotoko and has propelled them to third on the league table with 25 points, just three points adrift leaders Aduana Stars.
Ashanti Gold SC are just three points adrift Aduana Stars, only four points separate 6th place Medeama from 10th place, Great Olympics with just three points also separating 11th place, Inter Allies and 15th place, Legon Cities.
Christopher Nettey said that “This season was proving to be the most competitive in recent years until it was suspended ”
“Unlike the past years where a club could have been leading the league by a wider margin at this stage of the competition, the build-up of this year’s is very close.
“The competition is very intense at the top, middle, and even at the bottom and just one win or slip could change a lot.”
