Popular musician Captain Planet of “4X4” fame has called for immediate support for the once-celebrated hiplife musician Okomfuor Kwadee over his recent condition.
It could be recalled that a series of videos of the “Abrantie” hitmaker had popped up on social media showing his mental and poverty condition and his zeal for entertaining people.
Many questioned what the industry was doing for a great singer like Okomfuor Kwadee. In light of this, Captain Planet has taken to his X. On Wednesday, February 5, to seek urgent support for Kwadee.
“Ghana Music Industry: Make We People Do Something For Okomfo Kwadee Before e Go Be Too Late,” he wrote.
Radio personality Maximous Mensah, known widely as Dr. Pounds, also shared the viral video, asking, “What can we do paaa to help our brother?? Asem, oooo, so sad! Charley legend! GOD HELP OUR BROTHER.”
His post reflected the general concern and grief of those who have seen the once-bright artist’s condition deteriorate.
Okomfuor Kwadee was once well-known for his energetic performances and memorable songs, including “Ofie Nipa,” “Wo kye,” and “Ka wo nan to so.”
In a distressed state, the artist kept singing some of his old hit songs to entertain his household and the public.
According to reports, prominent musicians, including well-known music producer Abraham Ohene Djan and former hiplife singer turned pastor Evangelist Lord Kenya, have tried to get Kwadee medical help in the past.
But according to sources, his family opposed their efforts, making it more difficult to give the artist the care he needed to bounce back on his feet.
