At the Stade du 5 Juillet in Algiers on Friday night, Medeama lost 3-0 to CR Belouizdad in the last group stage encounter of the CAF Champions League.
Despite knowing they had already been eliminated from the competition, both sides played with energy. Especially the home team showed a tremendous commitment to providing their supporters with an appropriate conclusion.
The champions of Algeria dominated the game and triumphed spectacularly to get revenge for their previous 2-1 loss to the champions of Ghana.
The first goal was scored by midfielder Abdelraouf Benguit in the 27th minute, while the second was added by striker Leonel Wamba of Cameroon.
With the third goal to complete the victory, Gambian forward Lamin Jallow effectively ended Medeama’s chances.
