Former Chelsea and probably next England manager Graham Potter has raved about Ghanaian international, Antoine Semenyo’s admirable meteoric rise to the elite of English football.
Black Stars forward Antoine Semnyo was instrumental for Bournemouth on Monday night as they completely dominated Southampton in the last game of matchday 6 of the Premier League.
Prior to his £10 million move from Bristol City in the Championship to the Premier League, Semenyo has steadily grown into becoming a fan favorite at England’s South Coast.
Graham Potter was impressed by the Ghanaian’s journey and believes his journey so far is an inspiration for young footballers in the lower leagues.
“It’s a great story. It is really nice to hear the path he has been on. He has had his ups and downs, and many experiences in the lower leagues. He doesn’t play but he just kept playing and playing. It’s a great story for any young player. Sometimes patience is enough.
He’s obviously had the talent. The trick is to find the right pathway. Everyone’s pathway is different… He arrived in the Premier League in a humble way, and appreciative of what he’s got now and appreciative of his journey,” he said on Sky Sports.
Semenyo has had a hand in 10 goals in 20 Premier League appearances (eight goals and two assists).
